HYTROL Accumulation Conveyors

HYTROL Accumulation Conveyors

Thank you for stopping by our blog.

For any of you that don’t already know me, I’d like to introduce myself.

My name is Ronnie McCormick. I’m the President of American Conveyor Group, Inc. and I’d like to tell you a little bit about me, HYTROL, and American Conveyor Group, Inc.

I’ve been working in the conveyor industry with HYTROL Conveyors for 40 years.

In the past 40 years I’ve had many roles in the conveyor industry. I started out as labor, helping our installers, doing their various projects. I quickly moved into a leadership role, running our installation crew. And from there I went into inside sales.

Our owner knew if I understood how conveyors worked and knew the functions they served, in their many varied, different situations then, I would be a really good candidate to move into the sales position. Which I did after 3-years of installing conveyors…

HYTROL has always been on the cutting edge of development, ease of implementation, and training their partners. And they have consistently held “Continuing Education” training sessions to keep everyone proficient with HYTROL Conveyors.

During the time I was installing conveyors and after moving to sales, I attended all of HYTROL’s work shops and schools that they offered. Keeping up with all updates, new products, product tips, and industry trends is a must and we at American Conveyor Group are consistent in keeping up with today’s conveyor technologies.

That reminds me of a short story…

A memorable Hytrol Accumulation Conveyor story

We did a job that no one else was able to figure out. We had 32 oz. plastic cups coming out of a blow injection machine, 1,000 cups at a time, per minute. We sorted them into logs of 50 cups and conveyed them to 3D printing presses.

There, they were printed with the Star Wars theme onto them. Then the 50 log sleaves of cups were conveyed away after they were printed, sleaved and boxed into a case. Then the case was sent straight to the warehouse where they were palletized and shipped out.

No human hands touched the cups until they arrived at the restaurants. it was really impressive to see it all working after it was completed.

This was a great example where HYTROL accumulation conveyors really stood out and was a huge part of the success of this project.

We have many companies that have benefitted from HYTROL accumulation conveyors.

There is a huge benefit for each project we have done over the years and all customers have benefited from having HYTROL accumulation conveyors or, they would not keep spending the money to purchase them.

Hytrol Accumulation Conveyors have an impressive measurable result

HYTROL accumulation conveyors allow you to reduce labor cost, reduced downtime, faster throughput, and getting the maximum benefit out of your conveyor system. It allows our customers to accumulate product without human intervention or damage to the products.

How does HYTROL’s accumulation conveyors compare with other brands

HYTROL produces a 24volt accumulation system that does not have internal motors in the zone drive roller. Their life expectancy is much longer with the external motors (pancake style motor) versus the internal roller motors that most conveyor companies use.

Internal motors produce so much internal heat within the roller that, the heat cannot escape and they eventually burnout. This is just one of the great features of HYTROL’s accumulation conveyors versus many of our competitor’s conveyors.

My Insights into HYTROL

In my opinion, what makes HYTROL accumulation conveyors different from others in the market is, HYTROL really pays attention to the details and they’re always improving how their accumulation functions.

They have developed a new 24volt motor that has the control card build into the head of the motor so maintenance is really straightforward. The maintenance personnel do not have to figure out if a card is bad or if a motor is bad, when a zone is not function correctly.

Diagnosis and repairs are greatly simplified and service is much faster and the conveyor line is back up and running, in record time.

Misconceptions people have or that they don’t understand how accumulation conveyors can help

Accumulation conveyors have so many different benefits, depending on each scenario.

Example: HYTROL’s accumulation conveyors have built in functions that allow the customer to choose what function works best for each application.

This is a huge benefit. HYTROL’s accumulation conveyors are versatile. Depending on the application the conveyor can be configured to perform in that application or, that same conveyor can be configured to operate in another application just by reconfiguring the function.

This simplifies maintenance and cuts down on the amount of part types that need to be stored.

The future of accumulation technology

The future is only getting better.

Most conveyor manufacturers will tell you that around 60% of their total conveyor manufacturing production is with 24volt technology. This should indicate to you that companies are seeing the real value in 24volt systems. That it is simplifying their maintenance, reducing the variety and amount of parts that have to stored, and the 24volt motors run cooler and therefore, last longer.

Bottom line

HYTROL’s 24volt accumulation conveyors, solve their problems and Improve their production and saves you money.
